Warrants
  • I have a warrant, what do I do next?
    • If it is a bench warrant, in order to take care of the warrant a motion will need to be filed. You can either file the motion in person or online through File and Serve at http://efilenv.com/. If you are represented by an attorney or wish to hire an attorney, your attorney can file the motion on your behalf.
  • If it is an arrest warrant, in order to take care of the warrant you have the following three options:
    • Defendant can turn themselves in to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
    • Defendant can contact their attorney
    • Defendant can make an appointment with PreTrial Services:

In order to process the Defendant’s arrest warrant, the Defendant MUST have the following:

    • Valid form of ID, i.e. Driver’s License, Work Card, Military ID.
Court Appearances
  • I received a summons in the mail. What does this mean?
    • A summons contains a hearing date and time that you are required to appear for to answer to the charges listed. If it is a summons in lieu, you are also required to follow the instructions listed regarding fingerprinting.

 

  • When is my court date?
    • You can view the current status of your case through our online Court records inquiry. Once you click the below link, select Criminal Search/Pay Fine and enter your name or case number to obtain your case status. https://www.lasvegasjusticecourt.us/
Copy Requests
  • I need copies of documents from my case. What do I do?
    • You can click the following link to obtain the form and information on where/how to submit your request.
Change of Address
  • I have just moved. Who do I give the new address to?
    • The form is located on our website at the following link:
Change of address information: You may fax your change of address to (702) 671-3183 or mail the change of address to the court at Regional Justice Center, Las Vegas Justice Court, 200 Lewis Avenue, Attn: Criminal Division 2nd Floor, Las Vegas, Nevada 89101.

Make sure you include your case number, ID number, or name and date of birth. You may also call and update over the phone or visit the customer service division and fill out a change of address form during regular business hours.
Community Service or Counseling
  • Which counseling agency or community service agency do I call so I can perform the counseling and community service the judge ordered?
    • The judge would have indicated during your court appearance who to call and where to go to enroll in counseling or community service. You would have been given a Referral Form in court indicating this information. If you have lost your Referral Form, you may come to the customer service window at the Regional Justice Center, 200 Lewis Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada 1st floor to obtain a copy or you can make a request in writing. The copy fee for the document is $.50 per page.
Complaint Filing- District Attorney's Office
  • When will a complaint be filed on my case? How will I be notified?
    • A complaint is filed by the District Attorney’s office. If a complaint has not been filed by the return court date given to you when you were released from the Clark County Detention Center, a summons with a new date to appear in court will be sent if or when the District Attorney decides to file the complaint. Please make sure the Court has your correct address (see above for change of address information).

  • I want to place my case on calendar for a motion. What do I do? 
    • You can either file the motion in person or online through File and Serve at http://efilenv.com/. If you are represented by an attorney or wish to hire an attorney, your attorney can file the motion on your behalf.
