Judge Andress-Tobiasson was born and raised in Las Vegas. She graduated from Bishop Gorman High School, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She received her Juris Doctorate degree from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.
After law school, Judge Andress-Tobiasson returned to her hometown where she worked as a Deputy District Attorney at the Clark County District Attorneys Office. She served as a Justice of the Peace Pro Tempore from 1999 to 2009 and in June 2009, Judge Andress-Tobiasson was appointed to the Las Vegas Justice Court Bench.
Judge Andress-Tobiasson is an active volunteer for the Trauma Intervention Program of Southern Nevada where she regularly responds to emergency and trauma scenes, including but not limited to, natural deaths, car accidents, suicides, drownings, fires etc. to assist family members, witnesses, and other bystanders directly on-scene, during the investigations. She also serves on the TIP Board of Directors and the Advisory Board of U.S. Vets, working extensively with veterans in the community and the criminal justice system.
