Initial Appearance Court

WHEN: 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 7 days per week

COURTROOM: Lower Level Floor – Courtroom B

Individuals who are scheduled to appear in Initial Appearance Court are those who have not posted bail, or have not been administratively released on their own recognizance. Most individuals are scheduled for Initial Appearance Court within 12 - 24 hours of their arrest. 

Hearings are open to the public and all are welcome to attend.

If you need to contact the clerk in Initial Appearance Court prior to the start of a court session, please
email LVJCInitialAppearanceCourt@ClarkCountyNV.gov A clerk is present in the courtroom approximately 30 minutes prior to the start of each session.

The purposes of Initial Appearance Court are the following: 

  • To have a judicial review of criminal charges to determine if probable cause existed for an individual’s arrest;
  • To have a judicial determination regarding their custody status and/or release conditions; and
  • To have individuals appear personally before a judge.
